As many of you are mulling over how your New Year’s Resolutions will turn out, we’d like to keep encouraging you to just get started. Don’t worry about how long it takes. Don’t put yourself down in how you compare yourself to others. Don’t let gym intimidation stop you. And just because some people have good genetics (they do!), don’t think that you’re completely out of control.
Let’s take Chase Erwin for instance. You look at him now and might think he’s always been that way. Absolutely not true! If you haven’t heard, for a lot of years he was known as “the skinny guy”.
“My whole life I’d been called skinny. Been told it’s genetics. You’ll never be able to put on muscle or get past the skinny phase… You take it to heart, like, this is what I’m stuck with. You let it sit in your mind because the adult’s telling you this.”
He’s proven them wrong, but it took time. The effort to start is what matters most. The days will add up. They’ll become weeks. The weeks will become years, and then you get to look back at how far you’ve come.
Effort. Consistency. Time.
Keep your mind focused and on the right path, and you can do anything you set your mind to!
